Scope: This procurement specification covers aircraft quality bolts and screws made from a corrosion and moderate heat resistant martensitic iron base alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System as UNS S41800 and of 140 000 psi and 152 000 psi tensile strengths at room temperature. Primarily for aerospace propulsion system applications where corrosion and moderate heat resistant is required.

【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsdeterminethetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanelsinresponsetostressesactingintheplaneofthepanel.TestMethodA8212;Thistestmethodissuitedtomaterialthatisuniformwithrespecttotensileproperties.Itisnormallyappliedtostructuralpanelsandplywoodofclear,straight-grainedveneers.Itmayalsobeusedtoevaluatethestrengthofscarfandfingerjointsandothermanufacturingprocessvariablesthatcanbeexpectedtoinfluencethetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanelsinauniformmanneracrossthewidthofthesheet.TestMethodB8212;Thistestmethodemployslargetestspecimensandrespondswelltoallmanufacturingvariablesandgrowthcharacteristicsthataffectthetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanels.Itisrecommendedthatwherecomparisonsaretobemadethatthesametestmethodandspecimensizebeusedthroughout.Thisisbecausethevolumeofmaterialincludedinatestspecimencaninfluencethetensilestrengthregardlessofwhetherthematerialpropertiesareuniformthroughoutthesheetorvarywidelyduetothepresenceofgrowthormanufacturingfeatures.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanels.1.2Structuralpanelsinuseincludeplywood,waferboard,orientedstrandboardandcompositesofveneer,andotherwood-basedlayers1.3TestMethodA,TensileTestforSmallSpecimens:1.3.1Thistestmethodemployssmallspecimensthatshouldhaveareducedcrosssectionatthecenteroftheirlengthtoavoidfailureinthegriparea.Thetransitionfromfullwidthofspecimentoreducedsectionatthecentershouldbegradualtominimizestressconcentration.1.3.2Whenthemeasurementsofelasticpropertiesaretobemade,thelengthofthereducedcrosssectionatthecentershouldbeofsufficientlengthtoaccommodateanextensometer.1.4TestMethodB,TensileTestforLargeSpecimens:1.4.1Thistestmethodemployslargespecimensandrespondswelltomanufacturingvariables,plywoodgrowthcharacteristics,andotherdefectsinfluencingthetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanels.1.4.2Thetestspecimensarelargeenoughtocontainthemaximumsizeddefectsfoundinplywoodpanels.Thetestspecimenshaveaconstantcrosssectionsincethesizeandlocationofdefectscontrolthelocationoffailuresandtheeffectofstressconcentrationatthegripsisovershadowed.1.4.3Thistestmethodisrecommendedforthefollowing:1.4.3.1Comparativetestsofstructuralpanels,1.4.3.2Determiningtheinfluenceofanyspecificstrengthreducingdefectsonthetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanels,1.4.3.3Determinationoftensilepropertiesofplywoodandcompositescontainingveneerwithgrowthandmanufacturingcharacteristics.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
