【摘要】:Theinherentviscosityisrelatabletothecompositionandmolecularweightofapolyesterresin.Itmustbecontrolledsothattheprocessabilityandendpropertiesoftheresinremaininadesiredrange.1.1Thistestmethodisforthedeterminationoftheinherentviscosityofpoly(ethyleneterephthalate)(PET)solubleat0.50%concentrationina60/40phenol/1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethanesolutionbymeansofaglasscapillaryviscometer.HighlycrystallineformsofPETthatarenotsolubleinthissolventmixturewillrequireadifferentprocedure.1.2TheinherentviscosityvaluesobtainedbythistestmethodarecomparablewiththoseobtainedusingdifferentialviscometrydescribedinTestMethodD5225.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninSection8.
