【摘要】:Thesetestmethodscoversmall-specimentestsforwood-basefiberandparticlepanelmaterialsthataremadetoprovide:Dataforcomparingthemechanicalandphysicalpropertiesofvariousmaterials,Datafordeterminingtheinfluenceonthebasicpropertiesofsuchfactorsasrawmaterialandprocessingvariables,post-treatmentsofpanels,andenvironmentalinfluences,andDataformanufacturingcontrol,productresearchanddevelopment,andspecificationacceptance.Notallthetestsoutlinedinthesetestmethodsmaybenecessarytoevaluateanyparticularpanelforanyspecifieduse.Ineachinstance,therefore,itwillbenecessarytodeterminewhichtestsshallbemade.1.1PartA-GeneralTestMethodsforEvaluatingtheBasicPropertiesofWood-BaseFiberandParticlePanelMaterialsThesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthepropertiesofwood-basefiberandparticlepanelmaterialsthatareproducedasmat-formedpanelssuchasparticleboard,medium-densityfiberboardandhardboard.Someofthetestmethodsareapplicabletootherpanelproductssuchasorientedstrandboard.Thetestmethodsareasfollows:1.3Thereareacceptedbasictestproceduresforvariousfundamentalpropertiesofmaterialsthatmaybeusedwithoutmodificationforevaluatingcertainpropertiesofwood-basedfiberandparticlepanelmaterials.ThesetestmethodsareincludedelsewhereintheAnnualBookofASTMStandards.Thepertinentonesarelistedin.Afewofthetestmethodsreferencedareforconstructionwherethewood-basematerialsoftenareused.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIequivalentsareapproximateinmanycases.1in.=25.4mm,1lbf=4.45N.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
