【摘要】:Site-fabricatedstretchsystemsusedasinteriorfinishareevaluatedwithTestMethodE84tocomplywithbuilding,fire,orlifesafetycoderequirements.Thispracticedescribesspecimenpreparationandmountingproceduresforsuchmaterialsandsystems.ThelimitationsforthisprocedurearethoseassociatedwithTestMethodE84.AdditionalLimitations8212;Thispracticedoesnotapplytotestsystemsthatcannotbeusedtoproduceself-supportingspecimens.Ifthetestspecimenisnotself-supporting,furtherguidancecanbefoundintheappendixofTestMethodE84.1.1Thispracticedescribesproceduresforspecimenpreparationandmountingwhentestingasite-fabricatedstretchsystemtoassessflamespreadandsmokedevelopedassurface-burningcharacteristicsusingTestMethodE84.1.2TestingisconductedwithTestMethodE84.1.3Thispracticedoesnotprovidepass/failcriteriathatcanbeusedasaregulatorytool.1.4Usethevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsasthestandard,inrefereedecisions.ThevaluesintheSIsystemofunitsaregiveninparentheses,forinformationonly;seeIEEE/ASTMSI-10forfurtherdetails.1.5Thisfirestandardcannotbeusedtoprovidequantitativemeasures.1.6Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous,andadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.Firetestinginvolveshazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandardgivesinstructionsonspecimenpreparationandmounting,butthefire-test-responsemethodisgiveninTestMethodE84.SeealsoSection10.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.8Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotesshallnotbeconsideredrequirementsofthestandard.
